Ants Nõmper is a new managing partner of Ellex Raidla
Starting 1 of September, a new managing partner of Ellex Raidla will be Ants Nõmper who is going to run Ellex Raidla law office for the next four years with a partner Martin Triipan, a new member of management and previous managing partner Toomas Vaher.
According to new managing partner Ants Nõmper strong collective experience describes the partners in Ellex Raidla and not only in everyday legal cooperation, but also in running the office. “Therefore, we know what is important in order to uphold office’s high reputation in Estonia and internationally”, he said.
Toomas Vaher became managing partner in 2011 forming the management of two with previous managing partner Jüri Raidla. “Toomas has played a great role running our office and upholding a high reputation of the law firm on local and international market”, said senior partner Jüri Raidla expressing his gratitude for the effort Toomas has shown during the last four years. “I’m happy to see our experienced colleagues and partners who have put their effort both in legal practice and team development as our new management members.”
Managing partner Dr. iur. Ants Nõmper is one of the most widely recognised Intellectual Property, IT and Medical Law experts in Estonia whose work is closely linked with the word “innovation”. Ants has led a number of innovative cases including the first patent dispute in Estonia, the first dispute over responsibility of a media channel over commentaries in Estonia, the first Estonian pharmaceutical advertisement dispute in the European Court of Justice and receiving the first preliminary ruling for a generic pharmaceutical in Estonia. He is also one of the authors of the text books “Medical Law” and “Information and Law”, the first in their related fields to be published in Estonia. Also, Ants is a member of the .ee and .eu Domain Disputes Committee.
Toomas Vaher has been in Ellex Raidla since 1996 and is one of the most highly regarded litigation experts in Estonia and is also known as the former president of Estonian Bar Association (2010 – 2013). Over the years, Toomas has advised clients in a number of large and complex cases that have created a precedent. Toomas has participated in arbitration proceedings as arbiter and party representative, both in domestic and international arbitration. Since June 1, 2013, Toomas is a member of the Board of the Arbitration Institute appointed by the Board of the Finland Chamber of Commerce. Also, he is a widely recognised expert and adviser in alternative dispute resolution.
Martin Triipan has more than 10 years of experience almost exclusively in Environmental and Planning Law and is therefore one of the very few truly specialised lawyers in these fields in Estonia. Martin has been in Ellex Raidla since 2001 and his practical experience includes advising clients on complex environmental liability questions, often supporting the other practice areas of the firm in property transactions. He is also recognised as one of the most experienced litigators in the field. Martin is also active in legislative drafting – he has participated in the codification of the Estonian Environmental Law and has written on various environmental law related issues in a number of local and international publications.
