Ema Būtėnienė is an expert and attorney, specializing in the field of environmental law and has exclusive competence in the areas of tax for environmental pollution, waste management, environmental impact assessment, use of underground natural resources, compensation for environmental damage, climate change, territory and construction planning, as well as pollution and integrated prevention, and other environmental areas. Ema successfully represents clients before courts on issues of application of liability for environmental violations. She is actively involved in the preparation of feasibility and other studies related to waste management, public sector administrative capacities and the implementation of EU law in Lithuania and conducts seminars on environmental issues. She also has experience in representation before international institutions. In recent years, the significant area of Ema’s practice has included local and international consultations and representation of clients in legal disputes over environmental issues. Furthermore, she is a highly competent professional in the country consulting entities of the private and public sector on matters of the deposit on non-reusable packaging, various waste management, charges for municipal waste and other relevant issues.
