Three new partners at Ellex Valiunas
The law firm Ellex Valiunas will enter the New Year with its team of partners renewed. As of 1 January 2019, three veteran employees of the firm are joining the management, which will now consist of 18 partners.

The new additions to the ranks of partners are Dr Robertas Čiočys, Dr Karolis Kačerauskas, Miroslav Nosevič.
Veteran employees becoming partners
Dr Robertas Čiočys began his professional career in 2004, when he joined Ellex Valiunas, and now works at the corporate practice group. Mr Čiočys has recently represented Lietuvos Energija in its acquisition of three wind power plant parks, the fund Livonia Partners in its acquisition of Santa Monica Networks, the fund BaltCap in the sale of the Caffeine chain. The list of clients he has represented in making deals features companies such as Telia and Kesko. Mr Čiočys has earned most of his recognition for his work on private capital investment projects, cross-border merger and acquisition and venture capital projects in a variety of industries. The prestigious legal directories Legal 500, Chambers & Partners give him the accolade of an up-and-coming attorney-at-law, describing him as a ‘next-generation lawyer’ practicing in the fields of commercial, corporate law, corporate mergers and acquisitions. Dr Karolis Kačerauskas is one of the first legal experts in Lithuania to make focused efforts in promoting the development of cooperation between business and the state in utilising the model of granting concessions. Mr Kačerauskas has unique experience in the fields of state assistance and competition law, and has represented clients in state assistance cases at the European Commission and European Union courts. By becoming the head of the newly established public procurement and state assistance subgroup, Mr Kačerauskas intends to draw on his versatile experience, offering solutions to the clients that will ensure lasting and effective cooperation between the state and business and fair terms of competition for private and state-controlled business. Mr Kačerauskas has been working at Ellex Valiunas since 2005 and is valued by clients for his excellent analytical skills, ability to understand the client’s business transactions and coordinate intricate deals. Legal directories recognise Mr Kačerauskas as one of the top specialists of competition law in Lithuania.
Miroslav Nosevič joined Ellex Valiunas in 2006 and now has over 18 years of experience of judicial disputes and international arbitration under his belt. Currently, he is the head of the international and commercial litigation subgroup. The new partner specialises in shareholder disputes, banking and financial, real estate and contract disputes, recognition and enforcement of foreign court and arbitration awards. In 2018, his team established the case-law of the Supreme Court of Lithuania concerning the validity of waiver of the tenant’s right of first refusal to renew the lease contract, favouring the landlords at a shopping centre. Mr Nosevič also acts as an arbitrator and legal adviser in international and national arbitration conducted under the rules of ICC, SCC UNCITRAL ad hoc, and Vilnius Court of Commercial Arbitration. His time-honoured experience of litigation has received appreciation from the international legal directories Chambers & Partners, Legal 500 that have been naming him a top dispute attorney in Lithuania for several years now. Clients respect him as an excellent litigator and strategist, one who is able to manage complex cases of the banking and financial sector and shareholder disputes and understands what needs to be done in difficult situations.

As of 1 January 2019, Ellex will have 40 partners in the Baltic states.
