Karl Joonas Kendla is an associate specialising in dispute resolution.

Prior to joining Ellex Raidla, Karl Joonas worked at one of the largest law firms in the Baltics, where he dealt with Financial and Insurance Law. As a result, he is well-equipped to provide guidance to clients in a range of disputes concerning financial issues. He also worked as a legal advisor on the law of obligations in the Civil Law and Registers Division of the Ministry of Justice. Previously, he has practised at several other law firms.

Karl Joonas Kendla holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in law from the University of Tartu, both with honours. Karl Joonas was a runner-up in the 2022 Estonian Moot Court Competition and was awarded the title of best orator. In addition, Karl Joonas Kendla participated in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court Competition and furthered his skills at the Summer School of European Private Law in Salzburg and at the Summer School of Intellectual Property in Lisbon.

Karl Joonas has published several articles in various law journals and has been awarded many scholarships and prizes for his teaching and research. Karl Joonas is currently a lecturer of the Law of Obligations at the University of Tartu.
