Kristi Traagel is an associate at Ellex in Estonia, focusing primarily on dispute resolution.
Kristi has represented clients in disputes concerning various areas of private law, including complex disputes concerning technical networks, and large-scale bankruptcy proceedings and corporate law disputes. In addition, Kristi has assisted with financial innovation issues and has advised crowdfunding platforms and crypto service providers on licensing and financing issues.
Kristi holds a Master of Laws degree from the University of Tartu. During her studies, Kristi won the Estonian moot court competition and represented the University of Tartu in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court Competition. In addition to Ellex, Kristi has also practiced at a prestigious New York law firm and at the Estonian Supreme Court.
Kristi is also a seminar instructor at the University of Tartu, where she teaches the course “Introduction to Legal Analysis and Argumentation.” The course covers the core techniques and tools used in legal research and argumentation, including interpretation standards, legal reasoning structures, and case analysis. Students apply the methods in seminar papers and through practical case-solving.
