Orkla Eesti to sell Põltsamaa ready meals and juices business to Svensky Kaubandus

Ellex in Estonia advised Orkla Eesti AS, Estonia’s leading food industry company and part of the Orkla Group, on the sale of its Põltsamaa ready meals and juices business to Svensky Kaubanduse AS.

Food production began in the small town of Põltsamaa more than 100 years ago, and today Põltsamaa is one of Estonia’s most well-known and beloved brands. The Põltsamaa ready meals and juices business sold by Orkla Eesti is comprised of the production facility, the employees, the famous Põltsamaa trademarks and certain other assets. In addition to the sale of the Põltsamaa business, the parties have agreed on a partnership whereby Orkla Eesti AS will start ordering various products from the Põltsamaa factory in the future.

Completion of the transaction is subject to approval by the Estonian Competition Authority.
