Supporting Sportland’s Expansion: Successful Land Acquisition in Mārupe

We were part of team and in close cooperation with Colliers supported our long-standing client Sportland in the acquisition of 4.2 hectares of land in Marupe, Latvia. The acquired land plot is in the vicinity of Riga airport and has direct borders with already two other existing properties of Sportland. It will allow our client further to expand Sportland’s logistics center.

Ilga Gudrenika-Krebs was the lead lawyer in this transaction, working closely with Senior Associate Inese Freivalde. The main task during the negotiations was not only to find compromises with the seller, but also effectively comply with newly established regulation of the right of pre-emption of the manager of the Land Fund of Latvia and keep several possibilities of the development of the engineering network and connection to the utilities.
