Trodo becomes 100% Latvian-owned

Ellex in Latvia has provided legal support to Trodo, a leading e-commerce platform for automotive spare parts and accessories, in securing a senior debt facility from SEB Latvia. The financing enabled the buyout of Trodo’s Norwegian minority shareholder — a strategic step marking the company’s transition to full Latvian ownership.

Founded in 2012, Trodo operates under the Trodo and Eurodel brands and is one of the region’s most prominent pure-play e-commerce businesses. The company holds strong market positions in Latvia and Norway, while rapidly expanding across Sweden, Finland, Lithuania, Estonia, and other markets. Trodo’s platform combines product compatibility expertise with user-friendly digital tools, serving a growing customer base across the Nordics and Baltics.

The legal aspects of the transaction were handled by Ellex in Latvia partner Sarmis Spilbergs and Senior Associate Evija Ābele, who worked closely with Trodo’s founders and financial advisors to ensure smooth execution of the cross-border deal. The financing round was led by SEB Latvia, with advisory support from Oaklins Baltics.

“This transaction marks an important milestone for Trodo as it enters a new chapter under full local ownership,” said Evija Ābele, Senior Associate at Ellex. “We are proud to support dynamic Latvian companies like Trodo in their growth and transformation journeys, and we are grateful for the close collaboration with Oaklins Baltics and SEB Bank throughout the process.”

Trodo’s co-founders Emīls and Helvijs Everss expressed their appreciation to all advisors involved and paid tribute to the company’s late co-founder Jan Otto Jansen, whose early belief in the business helped set the foundation for its success.

With this transaction, Trodo is positioned to further scale its operations, strengthen its brand across key markets, and continue delivering an innovative, customer-focused digital experience.
