RATO Credit Union becomes RATO Bank
The European Central Bank has granted RATO Credit Union a specialised bank licence. From early 2026, the institution will continue its operations as RATO Bank.
This marks an important step in RATO’s transformation – from a long-established credit union into a modern specialised bank. With almost three decades of experience, RATO has built a strong foundation through continuous innovation, digitalisation, and strategic partnerships, including cooperation with the European Investment Fund.
Our Banking & Finance team advised RATO throughout the licensing process, providing legal assistance on licensing, regulatory, and structural matters.
We are proud to have contributed to this important milestone. Our team – Partner Ieva Dosinaitė, Expert Lina Radavičienė, and Associate Mindaugas Moskalionas – supported RATO during the entire licensing process, ensuring a smooth regulatory pathway and legal compliance.
This project once again demonstrates Ellex Valiunas’ expertise and ability to guide clients through complex licensing procedures, contributing to the strengthening of Lithuania’s financial sector and the emergence of new market participants.
