Story of a Painting, season II
We are delighted to announce that in collaboration with the Latvian National Museum of Art (LNMM) we move forward to the second stage of our joint project- Story of a Painting. The purpose of the project is to offer a contemporary, educational source of reference for art lovers by helping to make the art more appealing and available to anyone.
During the first stage of the project a series of videos was created about artworks that can be seen in the LNMM permanent exhibition “Latvian Art 1985–2000”. This second stage of the video project introduces artworks that have been created after World War II and which are displayed in the LNMM permanent exhibition “Latvian Art 1945–1985”.
Outstanding masterpieces of eight painters have been selected to represent this period:
The latest videos of the Story of a Painting will be freely available to all in Latvian, Russian, and English languages on the online news portal “Delfi”, the LNMM mobile application as well as on Facebook and YouTube channels. Well known actor Kaspars Znotiņš has lent his voice to the narrative in Latvian.
An opening of the second stage of the video project Story of a Painting will be held in the LNMM library on 24th January, at 12:00. The director of the LNMM Māra Lāce, the managing partner of the law firm Ellex Klavins Līga Merwin, the actor and narrator of the project Kaspars Znotiņš, and member of the LNMM Youth Club Kortnija Māra Gurtlava, will take part at the opening. You will be able to follow the opening online streamed on the Facebook pages of Ellex Klavins and LNMM!
The joint project of Ellex Klavins and the Latvian National Museum of Art was launched in 2017.
