Top white collar crime defence attorney Marko Kairjak joins Ellex in Estonia

Ellex in Estonia (Ellex Raidla) welcomes a new partner Marko Kairjak to it’s team. Marko is an expert in white collar crime law who, together with his team, is setting up a new practice group of dispute resolution in white collar crimes. Marko will become an attorney of Ellex Raidla with a position of a partner, as a result of which Ellex Raidla will have altogether 13 partners leading its practice areas in Estonia.

Marko Kairjak is a reputable expert in white collar crime law, who has successfully represented clients in many prominent matters – for example, the Port of Tallinn case and the criminal matter of Kajar Lember concerning benefit fraud. He has been highly recognised also by leading rating agencies, such as Chambers, IFLR100 and Legal500. Marko is a criminal law lecturer of at the University of Tartu, the author of several textbooks and the Vice Chairman of the Estonian Legal Science Society.

Marko has a Master of Laws degree from the Cambridge University and a PhD degree from the University of Tartu. Marko has been working with the law firm TGS Baltic since 2005 He became a partner in 2015, leading the Banking & Finance practice area. Kairjak has also advised several influential deals, such as the first IPO in the FinTech sector of the Baltic countries (Admiral Markets) and the first institutional investor’s investment into Estonian crowdfunding platform (EstateGuru’s credit line with Varengold).
