Jaanus Ikla is a counsel and former General Counsel to the Port of Tallinn and the national energy company Eesti Energia. Jaanus is widely regarded as one of the country’s leading experts on matters pertaining to legal regulation of the energy and real estate sectors.
He has extensive experience with a wide range of projects such as the purchase, sale and expansion of hotels, shopping centres, windmill parks, Estonian-Finnish submarine cable, power stations, and port terminals. He is one of the main authors of the Electricity Market Act and has been actively involved in drafting a number of other laws including the Law of Obligations Act and the Public Procurement Act.
