Ellex Valiunas, the largest law firm in Lithuania, expands its team of partners. From January, Giedrė Aukštuolienė, head of the Dispute Resolution practice, and dr. Olga Petroševičienė, one of the best known real estate experts in Lithuania, has become partners of the law firm. Martin Mäesalu, a new partner in Estonia, joined Ellex too.
Partner Aukštuolienė started her career at the law firm a decade ago. During this time, she became one of the most promising representatives of lawyers’ young generation in litigation and arbitration. Her experience covers both complex business litigation cases in Lithuania and wide-range client representation in commercial arbitration. She also successfully represented the Republic of Lithuania in investment arbitration processes. Jointly with partner Ramūnas Petravičius, Aukštuolienė leads the largest Dispute Resolution practice in Lithuania – 26 lawyers in total.
Last year alone, Ellex in Lithuania represented its clients in almost 300 litigation and arbitration cases where the total amount of disputes exceeded EUR 2.6 billion.
After joining the team of partners dr. Olga Petroševičienė became the 20th partner of the law firm in Lithuania. It is this office where Olga started her career as an attorney 14 ago. Later, she worked in various smaller law firms and individually represented major business companies and thus acquired valuable real estate law experience. Jointly with Audrius Petkevičius, she will lead the Real Estate and Environment practice.
“I return to Ellex Valiunas after a break, thanks to which I can give the law firm the top competence both as a real estate expert and the leader of the entire practice team. Work with Ellex will undoubtedly involve highly complex projects. I see it as an ambitious challenge to return in 2021 as clients will need targeting and long-lasting solutions in the pandemic”, Olga states.
With the new partners joining our team, the law firm also considers gender equality relevant in the lawyers’ community. Currently, the overall male-female ratio is equal in the law firm, while women in the management positions make up more than half.

According to Valiūnas, the strengthened team of the practice leaders is also a strong message to the clients who choose the law firm in expectation of the best result and effective project management. “I am happy that the young generation of lawyers gets increasingly involved in leadership at our law firm,” Valiūnas says.
Immediately before 2021, the partners’ team was enlarged in Estonia’s Ellex office, too – Martin Mäesalu, head of the Competition and State Aid practice, became the 14th partner.
