Ellex Klavins congratulated as the legal counsel for the Riga Latvian Society

In 2018, the oldest organization of Latvian culture and education – Riga Latvian Society (RLB) will mark its 150th anniversary. The 150th anniversary year of RLB was officially opened on 24th October 2017 with an opening breakfast.
 
The Riga Latvian Society has paved the way for creation of the Latvian State by promoting the feasibility of the idea of statehood through its varied and significant activities.   In pursuit of the goals set forth in its historical Charter, the RLB has throughout the years maintained involvement in cultural and educational activities, organized cultural and social events of all kinds, performed major refitting of the RLB building (an architectural heritage of national importance), and has earned its prominent status in the cultural realm of Riga and Latvia.
 
The anniversary year of RLB was opened with celebratory remarks by President of the Republic of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis and Guntis Gailītis, the Chairman of RLB. Several honorary members of RLB were also in attendance, including ex-president Guntis Ulmanis, composer Raimonds Pauls, film director Jānis Streičs and others. During the ceremonial breakfast the key upcoming events for the anniversary year for RLB were presented, and thanks were given to sponsors and donors of services, products and finances provided in support of RLB. Ellex Klavins was congratulated as the legal counsel for the Riga Latvian Society. Filips Kļaviņš, Managing Partner of Ellex Klavins, was present to receive the acknowledgement certificate.

During the anniversary year, the Riga Latvian Society invites one and all to attend the Charity Ball on 17th November 2017, and on 10th December 2017 – to a charity concert “In the Light of Advent”, where the funds collected will be donated for further refitting of the Riga Latvian Society Building.
