Represented Arquivio Arquitectura and Cloud architektai in signing a contract for design of Tautos namai
Ellex in Lithuania represented the Spanish architecture studio Arquivio Arquitectura and Lithuanian architecture studio Cloud architektai in the public procurement procedures. The successful tenderer signed a contract with the Ministry of Culture and Vilnius City Municipality to design the National Concert Hall Tautos namai (Home of Nation).
The complex of the concert hall and the Home of Nation hall will be built in the place of the former Trade Union Palace – on Tauras Hill, near the park and the Lutheran Garden. The total area of the complex will cover 16,000 – 18,000 square meters.
Preparation of the technical project should start on these days, and its completion is scheduled for early 2022.
The ten architects from Arquivio Arquitectura (project manager Daniel Fraile), having won the open international contest, will implement the Home of Nation project. Arquivio hired the architecture studio Cloud architektai, which has an extensive design experience in Lithuania, to implement the project.
The Ellex Valiunas public procurement team that represented the architects in the procurement procedures provided advice at the stage of the design and supervision of the Home of Nation’s construction works project implementation. This stage covered the services’ scope, quality requirements, design deadlines, conditions of the contract, and, finally, the price for the design services. The price of the services of design of the National Concert Hall Tautos Namai will be EUR 6.989 million (inclusive of VAT).
A unique feature of the National Concert Hall Tautos Namai is particular attention to acoustic solutions. To achieve such quality, Nagata, world-renowned acoustics specialists, were engaged in designing acoustics solutions. The suitability of the acoustics solutions will be tested by computer modeling and building a physical model of impressive size – a precise prototype of the concert hall. The computer modeling solutions will be tested with special equipment by Nagata specialists.
“We can now already call this project historic. The signed design contract is among the largest and most complex in the history of independent Lithuania, which is also illustrated by the fact that the negotiations over the contract’s conclusion have lasted for half a year. Naturally, such a project was subject to maximum requirements demanding, in parallel, the top legal competence. We are glad the designers have chosen the Ellex Valiunas team for this challenge”, Dr. Karolis Kačerauskas, partner and head of the practice, says.
