Ellex supports Ukraine

On 24 February 2022, Russia launched a large-scale military invasion of Ukraine escalating a conflict that began in 2014. Ellex condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The attack is a violation of international law, and there is no justification for it.

Today it seems that the last two years of constant struggle have been forgotten because of the devastating news of the invasion of Ukraine. The hope of our lives returning to normal that seemed quite realistic at the beginning of this year has disappeared. We hope that solutions will be found very soon to stop the war in Ukraine, our thoughts are with the citizens of Ukraine as well as with the future of Europe and all of humanity.

We believe that real actions speak louder than words and that this is the moment to show our support to Ukraine and the Ukrainian military services. We invite everyone to join us and find ways how we can help the Ukrainian people.

  • Ellex partners have contacted law firms in Ukraine and offered the use our office premises as well as assistance for any member of these law firms who decides to move to Lithuania and Estonia.
  • Ellex has donated money to Ukraine’s armed forces, organisations that are working with refugees in the Baltics and organisations that provide humanitarian aid to the civilians in Ukraine.
  • Ellex is providing pro bono legal services to the National Volunteer Coordination Centre Stiprūs kartu in Lithuania, Estonian Refugee Council in Estonia, and Association Gribu palīdzēt bēgļiem in Latvia.
  • We have also formed a task force in each Ellex office to coordinate and provide legal aid to people in need.
