Ellex wins CEE Legal Matters Deal of the Year Award in four categories

Ellex took home awards for Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, as well as the overall Baltic Deal of the Year, at the 2019 CEE Legal Matters Deal of the Year Awards Banquet in Budapest, for its advice to the Blackstone Group on its September 2018 Acquisition of a Majority Stake in Luminor. This M&A transaction was the largest in the Baltic history.

Finalists for the prestigious and peer-selected CEE Deal of the Year Awards were selected by panels of highly-regarded private practitioners in each country from over 200 submissions made by law firms all over Europe, with winners determined by a second group of prominent legal experts from across Central and Eastern Europe. Deals submitted for consideration were signed in the 2018 calendar year, and the panels based their determinations on deal complexity, market (and regional) significance, and value, among other factors.

“All three Ellex offices played a significant role on the Blackstone Group/Luminor deal, which was widely reported as the largest M&A deal in the history of the Baltics,” said CEE Legal Matters Executive Editor David Stuckey. “The firm’s multiple awards, including for Baltic Deal of the Year, is well-deserved.”

This recognition showcases the excellence and capabilities of our team across the Baltic countries. We are proud of being chosen to advise on transactions that are significant for the development of the business environment in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
