LIGHT CONVERSION granted large-scale project status for €47 million investment in Vilnius
The Ministry of the Economy and Innovation of Lithuania has announced that it has granted large-scale project status to ultrafast laser manufacturer LIGHT CONVERSION, UAB for its planned €47.3 million investment in Vilnius.
LIGHT CONVERSION plans to build a 13,000 sq. m manufacturing and research center that will enable nearly a threefold increase in production capacity – from 1,000 to 2,700 laser systems per year. It is also estimated that the project will create 200 new jobs between 2028 and 2031. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2034.
On matters related to the preparation of the application for large-scale project status – which provides businesses with special investment conditions – and the conclusion of the investment agreement, LIGHT CONVERSION was advised and represented throughout the entire process by Ellex Lithuania experts: Karolis Kačerauskas, Patricija Mažeikaitė, and Olga Petroševičienė.
Investment projects granted large-scale project status benefit from a 0% corporate income tax rate for up to 20 years, accelerated territorial planning procedures, faster issuance of construction permits, and other advantages. This status may be sought by manufacturing or data processing (internet server services) projects whose investment is at least €20 million (€30 million in Vilnius) and which create at least 20 new jobs.
