Orkla opens a 100 million euro biscuit and wafer production plant in Ādaži

The new production plant is the largest specialized biscuit and wafer production plant of this type and the largest newly built “Orkla” production plant with the aim of producing products for both the local Latvian market and the entire market of Northern Europe. Almost 100 million euros have been invested in its construction and technological equipment, which is the largest investment in the Latvian food production industry of recent years.

The development process of the plant started in 2018, while the construction started in November 2020. The production plant has started operating at full capacity since the moment of its opening.

“Orkla” is a longstanding client of Ellex in Latvia. Ellex real estate experts provided ‘’Orkla’’ with legal advice throughout the entire development process of this project including the purchase of land and development of a new production plant.
