Refinitiv Q3 results: Ellex leads the Eastern European M&A market by deal count
Refinitiv has recently announced its M&A legal advisory rankings for the first three quarters of 2021. Ellex has been ranked in two market segments: mid-market and small-cap.
According to both reviews, Ellex holds a dominant position across all Eastern Europe by deal count (52 deals counted for Ellex in the mid-market segment and 50 deals in the small-cap segment).
The credited deal value of the Eastern European region for Ellex in the mid-market segment is US$ 368 million and in the small-cap segment US$ 111,1 million.
Ellex has also been included in the Nordics tables in both segments, ranked 8th in the mid-market and 7th in the small-cap market segment. Furthermore, it is a great recognition to be the highest-ranked Baltic law firm among the most reputable Nordic firms.

Announced league tables include all deals that were announced between January 1 and September 30, 2021. League tables include rank eligible mergers, acquisitions, repurchases, spin-offs, self-tenders, minority stake purchases and debt restructurings.
The overall results during the first nine months of 2021 show that global mid-market M&A deals reached US$1.0 trillion (an increase of 53% compared to levels published a year ago) and mid-market deal making reached of 44,639 deals (a 27% increase compared to a year ago and an all-time high). Furthermore, worldwide small-cap M&A deals reached US$181.2 billion (an increase of 37% compared to a year ago) and small-cap deal making increased 24% compared to the first nine months of 2020, hitting an all-time high.
