Pauls Ančs is a senior associate specializing in issues related to EU market freedoms for goods and services. Pauls’ main activities concern online trading, digital services, unfair commercial practices, advertising, consumer rights and product safety. He represents clients in communication and disputes with business partners and regulatory authorities in areas that require product-specific legal knowledge.

Pauls is excited about the unique legal solutions (and problems) introduced by the recent “New Deal for Consumers” (a package of modernised EU consumer rules and enforcement tools), especially in the context of e-commerce and platform economies.

As an expert from Latvia, Pauls has participated in a European Commission project, which resulted in the creation of a useful tool for both the industry and consumers – an EU-wide, multi-lingual database of legal acts, case law, legal doctrine and other materials related to 11 of the most significant EU directives on consumer protection, from each of the EU member states.
