CEE Legal Matters DOTY awards go to Ellex once again
Ellex has won the 2022 Estonian Deal of the Year (DOTY) award for the firm’s work on Gren’s acquisition of VKG Soojus and 2022 Lithuanian Deal of the Year award for Novator Partners’ Investment in NordVPN.
“The significance of both of the deals was, ultimately, impossible for the two-tiered panel of voters to ignore, despite the fact that this year’s line-up of deals was the most competitive to date,” commented CEE Legal Matters Managing Editor Radu Cotarcea. “Our congratulations go out to Ellex for the critical role they played in making the deals happen and we’re looking forward to reporting on, and perhaps celebrate similar awards for, their future deals.”
Ellex’s team working on the winning deal in Estonia consisted of Partner Martin Käerdi, Counsels Triin Frosch and Jaanus Ikla, Senior Associates Kaisa Laidvee, Karin Tartu, Merlin Liis-Toomela, Alla Kuznetsova and Lawyer Alan Paas.
Ellex’s team in Lithuania also assisted Nord Security on the investment in their company NordVPN which let the company to become the second unicorn in the country. Team: Partner Paulius Gruodis, Associate Partner Mantas Juška.
Winners of this year’s Deal of the Year Awards were announced on April 25, in Istanbul, during the CEE Legal Matters Deal of the Year Awards Banquet, which ran in conjunction with the CEE General Counsel Summit, recognized and celebrated the largest and most important deals in Central and Eastern Europe.
This was the most competitive year to date, with the jury voting on a record number of submissions, making the ultimate winners all the more worthy of praise.
