Gerda Liik

Gerda Liik is a counsel specialising in M&A and corporate advisory, with over a decade of experience. She has advised on a wide range of domestic and cross-border acquisitions and divestitures across many different industry sectors, including TMT, utilities, financial services, insurance, construction, pharmaceuticals, food production, consumer goods and retail, agriculture, and railway transport. Gerda is highly skilled in project management, having led large due diligence teams on local and multi-jurisdictional transactions. She also has extensive experience negotiating complex transaction documents. In addition, she regularly advises clients on corporate restructurings, corporate governance matters, and other aspects of corporate law.

Gerda Liik was part of the pan-Baltic team behind the project that earned Ellex the CEE Legal Matters Deal of the Year Award for Estonia in 2024. She also contributed to the pan-Baltic project that earned Ellex the Mergermarket Baltic Legal Adviser of the Year award in 2024.

Gerda holds an MSc in Law and Finance degree from the University of Oxford and an LLM in European Law degree from the University of Edinburgh. She has also completed a summer programme at Bucerius Law School.

Gerda’s international experience is further underscored by her secondment at Roschier’s Helsinki office.

Since 2020, Gerda has been a member of the Commercial Law Committee of the Estonian Bar Association, actively contributing to the development of Estonian corporate law.

Gerda has been recognised as a “Leading Associate” by The Legal 500 Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) for Commercial, Corporate and M&A in Estonia.
