BotGuard raises €12 million in Series A funding round

Ellex law firm in Estonia advised cybersecurity company BotGuard OÜ on the €12 million funding round led by MMC Ventures.

The funding round was led by MMC Ventures, with existing investors Tera Ventures and Expeditions Fund also participating in the round alongside prominent angel investors.

This investment will enable the company to further enhance its technology, onboard top-tier tech development talent, and bolster its sales and marketing teams as it continues its global expansion.

With almost half of internet traffic originating from bots, website owners face various threats like data breaches, fraudulent activities, and DDoS attacks. While beneficial bots are widespread, employed in payment systems, CMS platforms, and social media tools, malicious bot traffic can be harmful to operations and drive up costs.

BotGuard has developed an easy-to-implement cloud-based solution, partnering with hosting providers to help website owners filter their web traffic, lower website management costs and defend their infrastructure. Using AI and other innovative technologies to automate the implementation process and reduce costs, BotGuard provides effective, manageable, platform-agnostic web security for organisations of all sizes.

BotGuard was advised by Ellex team that included Partner Antti Perli, Counsel Gerd Laub and Lawyer Liis Tava.
