Maria Teder is a counsel with a special focus on cross-border litigation and commercial arbitration.
Before joining Ellex in Estonia she was an international dispute resolution lawyer at the global headquarters of GE Oil & Gas in Florence, Italy, where she was involved in complex construction arbitrations and managed various commercial and construction disputes in the EMEA region. Due to her extensive international experience, she mainly represents clients as counsel in international arbitrations (ad hoc, ICC, SCC), including investment arbitrations, in Estonia and abroad.
Maria has an LL.M. degree in international commercial arbitration law from Stockholm University. She is also a visiting lecturer at the University of Tartu and devotes her time to the team from the University of Tartu for the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot on the topics of international commercial law and arbitration.
In 2024, Maria was appointed as a delegate to ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR for the 2024 to 2027 mandate.
